What a mud-terrain tire is for.
A mud-terrain tire has big, widely spaced tread blocks that clear mud and grip on rock and in ruts. It is the tire for trucks and Jeeps that leave the road on purpose.
On the highway it is louder, it wears faster, and it needs regular rotation to wear evenly. On packed snow and ice the large blocks give less grip than a winter or all-terrain tire with more siping.
If the truck spends most of its life on pavement, a rugged-terrain tire gets you most of the look with fewer compromises. If it does not, bring it in and the team will go through sizes and load ratings.
